Found only in Pilates studios, the Pilates Chair is a special equipment with pedals and springs attached for resistance.

In contrast to Pilates Mat and Reformer, most Pilates Chair exercises are performed seated or standing which are closer to our daily routines. Also, people with limited knee movements or are unable to lie down on their back due to medical conditions such as severe scoliosis or back injuries and can still do Pilates Chair to strengthen their core.

  • Duration of each Group Pilates Reformer or Pilates Chair class is 55 minutes
  • Recommended to do a minimum of 3 Pilates classes per week
  • Socks are compulsory for every class
  • Class cancellation must be made 12 hours before class or a no-show is charged
  • You will not be able to attend the class if you are more than 10 minutes late – the class will be charged
  • FREE Reformer Introduction Class is 30 minutes and only applicable if you take up a Group Pilates Reformer or Pilates Chair class immediately after the Introduction Class

My first time doing Chair Pilates. Went through a short intro with the instructor on the Chair and I could already see the challenge of doing certain moves on the chair! It's kind of intimidating to me doing certain exercises at that height. 😛
The instructor is really cool though. She gave me some modifications of the exercises. I appreciate her precise cuing and corrections. The class is with a mixture with some regulars. But the instructor used the modifications to help me concentrate on 'feeling' the core and getting the correct posture and alignment while working out on the chair. I did have a good sweat!
i really like the idea of chair Pilates instead of heading to the gym.

Review on Chair Introduction Class

Chair class was really fun and the instructor was very friendly - sharing with me the function of the equipment and the various chair exercises. The instructor is constantly checking and reminding me of the correct posture I'm supposed to have. Would love to go for another class soon.

Very special and interesting class! After the class you can really feel the muscles, strongly recommend this class to everyone!
